I spoke this morning to the great group at East Central Indiana Social Media Group in Muncie. Loved this group – lots of engagement! I thought it might be helpful to list the many resources we talked about this morning – so here they are:
Surveys cited:
- Exact Target – Subscribers, Fans and Followers Report (This is the source for the charts that show why fans like and unlike a page. Free once you register – a lot of white papers available here)
- Cygnus 201 Donor Survey (for non profits – the free executive summary has loads of info)
Useful Free Tools – shares content easily with Facebook:
- Screenr (Capture your screen movements to show customers how to find something, etc)
- Issuu (Takes your PDF and creates and interactive book)
- Eventbrite (Great for using to register for events and to sell tickets – free if your event is free)

- Google Alerts (Have topics sent to your email automatically to stay on top of things)

How to Promote your “Social Activity”
- Add a Link on Your Personal Profile
- Embed Widgets on Your Website
- Mention it in your email newsletter
- Place signs in your physical building/lobby
- Post photos and encourage fans to tag themselves
- Place Facebook Ads
- Run a Contest (within TOS)
- Use @Tag
- People can like you via SMS: Facebook users just send a text message to 32665 (FBOOK) with the words “fan yourusername” OR “like yourusername” (without the quotes).
- Use the share button – from your personal profile
